Anna Mieke

Anna Mieke is the musical project of county Wicklow based artist Anna-Mieke Bishop. Her debut album Idle Mind is a sonically rich record filled with soothing sustained textures which mold with Mieke’s detailed guitar playing and captivating traditional vocals. Harmonium, fiddle, flute clarinet, cello, bouzouki and hammer dulcimer arrangements are merged beautifully with Mieke’s folk compositions. Mieke blends traditional Irish folk components with modern songwriting and production which results in a body of work which is both moving, uplifting and incredibly soothing. Anna Mieke was one of five RTÉ Folk Award Nominees for ‘Best Emerging Act’ in 2019.
